Keloid Disorder

Millions of people are affected by keloid disorder; a chronic debilitating skin disorder, that has been neglected by research community. Keloid disorder starts in teenage years and remains with patients for a very long time. Keloid is a benign skin condition which results in excessive growth and formation of tumor like lesions in otherwise healthy appearing skin. Despite their benign nature, keloids can cause severe aesthetic and functional problems which impacts patients' quality of life. Keloids do not regress and are characterized by a high rate of recurrence and even worsening after surgery or other forms of treatment.

It is estimated that 6-10% of African Americans suffer from this skin condition. To learn more about Keloid Disorder, please visit Dr. Tirgan’s medical practice website
